The Child Welfare Scholars Program continues to accept applications for the 2015-16 academic year!

The Child Welfare Scholars Program provides financial support (up to $11,000) and educational resources to MSW students committed to a post-graduate career in public or tribal child welfare.

The Center for Regional and Tribal Child Welfare Studies is excited to introduce the new 

Seeking training on child welfare and substance abuse, domestic violence, cultural competence, or trauma-informed practice? 

Looking for online modules on early childhood development or public policy? Searching for practical tools to use with families?

The E-Library houses links to the Minnesota and Wisconsin Department of Human Services Information Centers, National Child Welfare Workforce Institute, National Child Advocacy Center, National Indian Child Welfare Association, and much more! 

Our goal is to keep you up-to-date with the information, resources, and trainings you need for best practice in public and tribal child welfare. We hope current students, recent graduates, and longtime alumni find this site helpful for continued professional development.

Are you interested in becoming a leader in American Indian child welfare practice?

Are you interested in receiving an $18,000 training stipend for your MSW program and receive professional development opportunities to prepare you as an advanced child welfare practitioner?

If so, consider applying for the new, Center for Regional and Tribal Child Welfare Studies' ICWA Scholars Program!

The 5-year Dabinoochiwag (For the Children): A University County and Tribal Child Welfare Partnership grant was awarded by the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute (NCWII) and aims to create better outcomes for American Indian children and families in St. Louis County. This will occur in part through training MSW students through specialized cohorts of ICWA Scholars who will become leaders in Indian Child Welfare through specialized coursework, trainings and field placements.
